Black and White Together

black and white together at the March

I love this photo.  The March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom of August 28, 1963 was  a significant event in the civil rights struggle in the United States of America.  Here we see protestors linking arms near the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC.  The reason this photo is so important to me is that it shows black and white people united in the fight for justice.

The photograph was taken by James P. Blair of the National Geographic magazine.
