In London once again and, as ever, the task is to find something new. This time I headed to the Paddington area, passing through the station, saying ‘hello’ to the sculpture of Britain’s best loved refugee, and out onto the Grand Union Canal to find a sculture by Jon Buck.
The African influence on the artist is clear to see in this sculpture which is found in Sheldon Square. I had seen pictures of it in books and wanted to see it for myself.
Nearby are two figures by artist Sean Henry, ‘Standing Man’ and ‘Walking Man’.
Public art is worth seeking out, especially when it is away from the tourist trail.
